The slimline TX56 Navigation/Communications unit from Trig Avionics has received recognition for its Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The STC means wider installation options across Europe, enabling the installation of the TX56 family for both VFR and IFR operations.

Trig’s TX56, TX56A, TX57 and TX57A Nav/Com units are covered by the STC with a comprehensive Approved Model List (AML) of more than 650 general aviation fixed-wing types.

There’s also support for autopilot integration and both legacy and modern VOR/ILS systems, including Trig’s TI106.

James Forbes, Customer Support Manager at Trig said, “We are pleased to see our STC recognised by EASA. This further simplifies the installation of the Trig TX56 and unlocks the Nav/Com to a wider market where other installation options were not previously available.  We are grateful to our STC partner, Metrea, for their hard work and continued support on this project.”

Trig Avionics has also announced a summer sale with significant savings on its popular TX56 Nav/Com and TI106 CDI. Throughout July and August 2025, Trig is offering a £330 discount on the TX56. When paired with the TI106, there’s a saving of an additional £330 — a total of £660 off.
