+VIDEO Cue jaunty music, line up a bunch of determined inmates, add intrigue and a sense of ‘will they, won’t they make it?’… yes, it’s The Crate Escape!

The escapees are exhibits at the RAF Museum Midlands which is undergoing an epic £28 million transformation. Epic? Yes, there are new exhibitions on cyber and space, a learning centre, and a cutting-edge Collections Hub.

But there are 50,000 historic RAF objects to move and the museum needs our help!

Inspired by The Great Escape, the museum has launched a fundraising mission which they’ve named The Crate Escape.

The idea is that you sponsor a box and become part of the action. In each crate could be anything from boots to bomber parts. Every sponsor gets a unique box number, exclusive updates and the big reveal: what’s inside the crate?

“This is about more than moving objects,” said the museum’s Ella Hewitt. “It’s about preserving stories for future generations.

“Sponsor a box. Join the crew. Help history break out!”
