+VIDEO Rapid response in mountain rescue emergencies has a new tool – the single-seat electric Jetson ONE.

The Italian company is testing two of its production electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with Poland’s Mountain Rescue team.

The Jetson team travelled to southern Poland and demonstrated executing mission scenarios flying and reaching multiple destinations including 1,211 metres high Mt. Luban. The Jetson ONE reached the summit in less than four minutes, despite flying in strong and gusty winds.

Jaroslaw Jurczakiewicz, head of the Polish mountain rescue unit, said, “This is not just a tech showcase, but a real opportunity for a new tool in our work.

“Equipment like this could enable extremely fast access to casualties —especially in situations where reaching them by ATV or on foot takes dozens of minutes if not longer depending on availability of prepared mountain trails.

“The Jetson ONE could serve as a ‘rescue spearhead’—the first responder who arrives instantly and can begin action immediately.”

Jetson is evaluating further optimisation of the ONE for life-saving operations.

“The insights gathered will help us develop the project based on the real needs of rescuers,” said Tomasz Patan, Jetson founder and CTO.

Why Poland? Jetson started its journey in Poland where the first concept prototype was developed by founder Tomasz Patan. The company moved to Italy in 2022 where production has begun with more than 500 orders so far.
